The Motto of the branch is to work for the upliftment of women and children.

In the year 1972 the branch acquired a ground floor flat at the above address. It also has it’s activities in the community center at Besant Street, Santacruz (West) with Santacruz Mahila Mandal.

The Branch has about 500 Life Members and 150 Yearly Members. The Life Membership fees are Rs.: 351/-, and the yearly Membership are Rs.: 51/- only.

Current activities :

  • We run a Bal-Wadi in Khot Wadi area since year 1960 in English medium. Snacks are given everyday. About 35 to 40 childrens take the benefit of the same every year.
  • The following activities run by the branch at Popular Apartments.
    (A) Free Sewing Classes twice a week, beneficiaries are 15 to 20 ladies,
    (B) Free Acupressure center twice a week, beneficiaries are 25 to 30 patients,
    (C) Free English speaking class for adult ladies twice a week, beneficiaries are 15 to 20 ladies,
    (D) Instrumental Music class and a Dance Class twice a week, beneficiaries are 15 to 20 Ladies and Children’s,
    (E) A free Osteopathy camp by Dr. Meherji Aavari from Navsari (Gujarat) is arranged twice a year, during the camp consultation and treatments are given free of costs, beneficiaries 60 to 70 patients.
  • Activities at Community center :
    (A) Yoga Classes four days a week, Morning and Evening successions, beneficiaries 15 to 20 ladies,
    (B) Grishma Shibir - Since 1982, a 15 days program of Grishma Shibir during last 15 days of April is arranged for girls of age group 9 to 14 years. The motto is to occupy them gainfully during their school vacations,
    (C) A weekly program is arranged twice in a year in the month of September and February. During this program awareness lectures, demonstrations and picnics are arranged. Late Smt. Sanmatiben Garba competition and Late Smt. Pramilaben Dixit Cooking competitions are also arranged.
  • The branch denotes computer fees on behalf of the needy children of Smt. Malti Dala High School, Santacruz west, Sane Guruji School, Chunabhatti, Santacruz west and Shraddha Project of MBCC. This year we have donated Rs.: Ten Thousand for the Information Technology Department of “Fellowship of the Physically Handicapped” Haji Ali, Mumbai – 34; and Rs.: Five Thousand for the street children project called “GUNJAN” run by Mahila Sangh “D” Ward, Arthur Road Naka, Mumbai – 11.
  • We are planning a series of lectures on legal, social and health related awareness programs for ladies every month from now onwards.
